Using the Record with Students
Faculty and staff can use the Engagement Record as a tool during advising, mentoring, teaching, supervision, and coaching conversations.
Consider encouraging students to:
- Review their Engagement Record regularly
- Reflect on what they have learned through their experiences
- Identify skills they have developed
- Explore opportunities they may want to pursue next
- Use the record when updating résumés, applications, and professional profiles
Questions you might ask include:
- Which experiences have been most meaningful to you?
- What skills have you developed through those experiences?
- What experiences are missing from your record?
- What opportunities would you like to pursue next?
- How have your experiences influenced your goals?
If students are unsure where to start, connect them with Engagement Advising and resources available through Engage.
